Job Title Process Improvement Specialist
  FTE 1.0; Salary Range: $60,135-90,307/yr. Location: South Water Front.
Functions / Duties of Position  
  This position will (1) provide process improvement and program/project management expertise within Facilities and Logistics, (2) teach process improvement and program/project management tools and techniques within Facilities and Logistics (3) manage key projects within Facilities and Logistics, (4) assist work groups in analyzing business processes and systems to develop recommendations for optimization, (5) use a variety of process improvement and project management tools such as PMBOK, PMO, Rapid Process Improvement, LEAN techniques, and Six Sigma to manage process improvement/project initiatives, (6) utilize productivity analysis and other reporting tools to identify and communicate operating efficiencies to Facilities and Logistics management. This position is responsible for contributing to excellent customer service and an overall service excellence philosophy.
  Required: Bachelor's Degree in science, business, engineering, statistics, or other related field.

Evidence of relevant continuing education in the area of performance/process improvement and project management.

3 years of experience in performance improvement.

2 years in a relevant work setting, such as academics, healthcare and research preferred.

Experience implementing and/or leading change management initiatives preferred. Previous work as a Project Manager and formal experience in training and coaching preferred.

Thorough knowledge of LEAN process improvement tools required. 1. Thorough knowledge of LEAN process improvement tools required—must be able to teach tools and techniques within Facilities and Logistics. 2. Strong working knowledge of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and project management tools--—must be able to teach tools and techniques within Facilities and Logistics.3. Strong working knowledge of change management methodologies and techniques.4. Must have excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills: both written and verbal.5. Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products including: Project, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.5. Ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain effective working relationships.7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Be able to delegate and balance multiple projects and responsibilities effectively.8. Must possess energy and drive to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.9. Must be collaborative in resolving problems and have a customer-focused attitude.

Preferred: Familiarity with Oracle. Familiarity with supply chain and/or facilities management and business processes. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Six Sigma Black or Green BeltCertification. LEAN process improvement certification. Engineering background.
